Low-energy excitations in a one-dimensional orthogonal dimer model with the Dzyaloshinski-Moriya interaction

چکیده
Effects of the Dzyaloshinski-Moriya (DM) interaction on low-energy excitations in a one-dimensional orthogonaldimer model are studied by using the perturbation expansions and the numerical diagonalization method. In the absence of the DM interaction, the triplet excitations show two flat spectra with three-fold degeneracy, which are labeled by magnetization M = 0,±1. These spectra split into two branches with M = 0 and with M = ±1 by switching-on of the DM interaction and besides the curvature appears in the triplet excitations with M = ±1 more strongly than those of M = 0.

Quantized Breathers in a Double Sine-gordon System
We examine the excitations of a quasi-one dimensional easy plane antiferromagnet, in a symmetry breaking applied magnetic field. The antiferromagnetic exchange includes a small Dzyaloshinski Moriya component that produces the easy plane. In the classical continuum limit, this system is described by a double-sine-Gordon field theory, which supports soliton excitations and the multi spin wave bou...
متن کاملDzyaloshinski-Moriya interaction in the 2D spin gap system SrCu(2)(BO(3))(2).
The Dzyaloshinski-Moriya interaction partially lifts the magnetic frustration of the spin-1/2 oxide SrCu(2)(BO(3))(2). It explains the fine structure of the excited triplet state and its unusual magnetic field dependence, as observed in previous ESR and new neutron inelastic scattering experiments. We claim that it is mainly responsible for the dispersion. We propose also a new mechanism for th...
متن کاملEntangled quantum Otto heat engines based on two-spin systems with the Dzyaloshinski-Moriya interaction
We construct an entangled quantum Otto engine based on spin-1/2 systems undergoing Dzyaloshinski–Moriya (DM) interaction within a varying magnetic field. We investigate the influence of the DM interaction on basic thermodynamic quantities, including heat transfer, work done, and efficiency and find that the DM interaction importantly influences the engine's thermodynamics. We obtain an expressi...
متن کاملJordan-wigner Fermionization and the Theory of Low-dimensional Quantum Spin Models. Dynamic Properties
The Jordan-Wigner transformation is known as a powerful tool in condensed matter theory, especially in the theory of low-dimensional quantum spin systems. The aim of this chapter is to review the application of the Jordan-Wigner fermionization technique for calculating dynamic quantities of low-dimensional quantum spin models. After a brief introduction of the Jordan-Wigner transformation for o...

In this paper effect of pile-soil consideration in obtaining seismic response offshore structure is assessed due to earthquake loading. InducedSeismic force is one of the most important excitations for the dynamic response of an offshore structure. According to API, Seismic forces should be accounted in platform design for seismically active regions in order to determine the allowable seismic r...
